Panasonic is still committed to the users who want a good camera but have no advanced knowledge of photography. The Lumix DMC-FZ200 is a good example. With a classic design camera, this team gives the feel of a real camera in his hands. It also includes one of the details that fans like, a huge telephoto lens.
With a lens like this, we seek further detail in our photos. It has a 24x zoom. In photography traditional 35 mm, this lens is equivalent to 25-600 mm. It is a very high figure, to be handled with care. When taking pictures making the most of this advantage, we must consider a few details that we will win as in the photo.
For starters, we need a good light. If lighting is poor it is better to seek a foothold for the camera. And the fact is that to work with a 600 mm can be done very complicated, since the most minimum movement of the camera supposes a radical change in the setting of the photo, and this can leave shaken (scene).
The sensor is a MOS of 12.1 megapixels, which has a noise reduction system image. This effect is what happens when we force sensor sensitivity to the fullest because there is little ambient light. Red dots appear on the photo to reveal that we did not have adequate light.
The 12.1 megapixels may seem a discrete number compared to what we see in some cameras today. However, we must take into account our real needs. MagapÃxeles number indicates the size of the image quality is not. With this value, we could print a picture on high quality (300 dots per inch) with a size of 33.8 x 25.4 cm.
Another positive detail of this camera is the ability to handle RAW format. Most non-professional cameras (compact) do not usually give this option. RAW format corresponds to the image as it is captured by the sensor, and contains lots of information. What we usually get with a professional camera is a file in JPEG, which has already passed through the image processor.
The RAW file is much larger, and therefore takes up much more space on the memory card. But if we intend to tweak the picture to post, it is essential to obtain this format, because if they touch up our chances are greatly diminished.
The DMC-FZ200 has a movable rear screen of 3 inches. The fact, that the screen allows us to move at odd angles when photographing difficult situations. It is also very useful in video recording. If you prefer to work with his eye glued to the viewfinder, the camera has a built-in 1.3 megapixel digital. It is a good value for a digital display, and gives us an approximate idea of the photo you’re going to take.
Nevertheless, this continues being the greater disadvantage of this type of cameras set against a traditional reflex. By very good that be the electronic viewfinder, its quality never will be able to surpass to that of our own eye.
Panasonic has not disclosed the price of this camera, even if we know when it will reach the market. It will be at the end of summer in September. Although we do not know its price, if we know that its predecessor, the Lumix DMC-FZ150 was launched a year ago with a price of 500 euros.
